Day 20-ish: Virginia City to Ennis and West Fork

Sue, Suzanne, Pete, Betsy and Lisa headed out to brave the 2 ½ mile (8% grade) 915 ft climb to the summit, rewarded by our first view of the Grand Tetons at the pass, and a screaming 10 mile downhill into the charming little town of Ennis for breakfast.  Due to the lack of shoulder and the anticipated traffic, Lauran and Stephanie bailed on the 14 mile ride.

After rendezvous-ing in Ennis, we then spent a couple of hours visiting all the shops (and making some awesome purchases).  It was a unanimous decision to sag to our campground due to the lack of shoulder and the busy traffic heading to the West Entrance to Yellowstone.

We stayed at the West Fork campground which turned out to be an enjoyable spot.

It was right off a creek by the Madison River which meant another opportunity to dip in the river.

The camp was founded 3 generations ago by a group of school teachers and most of the people were grandkids of the original group.  Everyone was so friendly, particularly Nola who befriended Frankie (or Francine as she liked to call her).
The last of the sunshine, before the big storm rolled in, illuminated Betsy's sunglasses -- check out the reflection!

After the storm passed, we were treated to a lovely rainbow.
